Card of the Day - 10/16

We are continuing to use the Halloween Tarot by Kipling West for the entire month of October.

Today's Card: King of Imps (Wands)
Shadow Card: 8 of Ghosts (Cups)
Top Card: 7 of Pumpkins (Pentacles)

This King is about being a master of your creativity, inspiration and focusing on the divine spark, the expression of God inside of you. Can you see how the king is focused to the left? Left is looking into the past. The imp represents the element of fire and the creativity the king has mastered. Yet, the king is faced away from the imp. So, how are we distracting ourselves from the creative things we want to accomplish? What are we focusing on instead? Are we distracted by things that have happened and are over? Are we distracted by what ifs that will never happen? Are we lost in the Death Valley of our mind and mentally beating ourselves up when we don't do what we tell ourselves we'll do?

The Shadow Card is about us deciding to walk away from something in our lives. The ghosts all around this retreating figure are distraught. They need you and you are leaving. I see this as you people pleasing and the ghosts are only focused on themselves. It's time for you to focus on you. The others in your life have gotten used to you doing things they should be doing for themselves. Maybe you are leaving a job where you are overworked or walking away from a group or event where you felt burdened. And this experience has left you exhausted. You need a retreat. A you time. You may come back to this thing refreshed or you may decide you need to move on to a new chapter in your life.

The 7 of Pumpkins is about how we are waiting for our harvest to come in. But it takes time for things to grow and mature. So, we end up tapping our foot and shuffling back and forth in anticipation of it being done so we can enjoy it. I did get a time frame for harvest: by Christmas.

My Take

You know that you have been neglecting your creativity and inspiration. And that is because you are so overworked and busy doing the tasks of others. This leaves no time for creativity. So, you may end up walking away from one of your commitments in order to focus fully on something you are wanting to create. But walking away may be a process and take time. By Christmas you will be once again in your creative power and enjoying this new extra time to spend with family and friends.

Blessings.
