Setting goals is a really important thing we need to do at all times and not just at the beginning of the year. Maybe in 2015 you will resolve to get more organized, buy a planner, a calendar, or just write down what you need to do. It is a proven fact that if you write your goals down that you are more likely to accomplish them.
So, I want us to work together this year to accomplish the goals we set for ourselves and make 2015 a bang up, awesome, sparkly best year ever!
I was watching a video about how to make the most of 2015 and make it your best year ever. There are all sorts of organizing, planning and goal setting videos on YouTube. Just do a search and check them out.
Here are a few questions you can ask yourself when contemplating your goals for 2015.
- What 3 things are you most proud of in 2014?
- What areas of my life do I excel in?
- What areas in my life need more attention?
- What 3 things can you improve on in 2015
- What do I need to stop or start in 2015 to accomplish my goals?
- What will be my word or words for 2015 that will describe how I will approach this next year?
- Explain a little about why you picked these words or word for 2015. What make that word work for helping you make your best year yet seem more achievable?
- What will I do to make sure my goals are achieved? Maybe add sticky notes to your planner and do quarterly check ins with yourself.
Check out this video to learn more about goal setting.
I followed along with this video and I filled out my journal (see an excerpt below). I could not just decide on one word for 2015, and that's okay. Do what speaks to you. You know you better than anyone else. Below are my words for 2015 and my reasons for picking them. I thought I'd give you an example if you were stuck on this question.
Keep me updated about how your year is going. Let's check in with each other to make sure we stick with the goals that will help us accomplish our best year yet.
Make It A Great 2015!

Hi Toni,
ReplyDeleteI was going to post on YouTube but it always gives me a hard time (then I typed a long post here and it didn't post so maybe its me...or merc retro.) :D
Anyway, I saw your comment on Pat Rainville's channel and maybe it is an Aries trait (I have a friend who does the same thing: gets really into something then burns out and gets into something out and the cycle continues) or maybe you're just down, and I have posted to you about this before but thought I would take some time again to say that I do watch your videos and they do make a difference. More times than I can count I have needed a sign or a nudge or even just some hope and I've clicked on your video and bam! - there it was ~ and I'm sure there are others like me, who watch and get something from your posts but don't comment. I also like the way you describe the cards and how you tie together the 'story' - that is so helpful at the end of the reading. (to know how it all ties together)
I do understand that sometimes it is just time for us to move on and I respect your decision either way but just wanted to drop you this note.
Also, I enjoy the cross-stitch posts as well. I only recently learned how to cross-stitch and by "learn" I mean a neighbour came over and said: "I don't like to start in the center!" She then counted down and across then showed me how she was counting past the border then made a single "x", skipped a square and made another "x" then handed it to me and said: "now go!" and then left. :O lol! From there I counted the way she had done and finished the sampler ~ suffice to say it helps a lot to see how stitches are done (like french knots for ex) and I enjoy seeing people's WIPs and finishes (terms I now know) and also all the different designs/patterns out there even if I can't find them - like your art nouveau kit. (so pretty)
Anyway, this is turning into a novel but I just wanted you to know that you make a difference and more people watch/pay attn than you realize. And to say: thank-you. :)
A.
Thank you, Autumn. I really appreciate your post. I haven't completely decided to quit but I am scaling back a bit taking out one of the 3 readings I have been doing. I want to do a few more cross stitch videos a month. I appreciate you telling me how much my readings have helped you. That means a lot to me. So much really. I don't get a lot of feedback and sometimes you wonder if you really make a difference.
DeleteAgain. Thank you and keep in touch.
Toni
Wow, I really hate when Google does this - it won't let you put in the account even though you are already signed in so you have to type the message then when you hit: publish there is nothing there because it wants you to sign in first! lol! (can we scream 'argh' now?) :D
ReplyDeleteAnyway, what I had posted was that I love the cross stitch videos - there are so many talented people and some of the patterns are absolutely gorgeous! And they are enablers because I watch the hauls and think: ok that is gorgeous, where did they find that? I enjoyed your 'haul' too - loved the owl and the art nouveau as I said. And I liked watching your progress on the doors that you got from a magazine. I can't find cross-stitch magazine here, I really wanted the Cinderella pattern (had two from Joan Elliot: before in her "cleaning" outfit and then transformed) from their November 2014 but it wasn't sold in town.
I get a lot from the videos as well because I don't know a lot of the stitches as I said and there is quick a bit I still don't get - like 2 over 1 or when they talk fabric (20 count vs 28 and that sort of thing); I have only used Aida because my Mom's friend had gifted me with some samplers that she bought years ago and never opened other than that I haven't stitched anything that I've actually picked out. (or "kitted" up as they say)
As for feedback, try not to let it get to you. I know I am guilty of watching people and never commenting so I'm sure there are others who do the same. You do make a difference.
